Exchange between Rafa and Roger at the net after their quarterfinal last night
The draw is potentially a little easier, there’s no denying that, because Rafa is a great champion.
It’s obviously never the same if Rafa doesn’t enter the tournament… Of course we all wish the best for him and to return quickly.
I thought for sure we would see him in Toronto, but now he missed Toronto and Cincinnati. It’s very surprising, because it was nothing that we heard of prior to the injury. He played so well on clay, and then actually seemed fine at Wimbledon. He had more (recovery) time by losing earlier at Wimbledon.I’m sad for him. I hope he’ll be back for the Open.

He also said “I am very worried and sad for Rafa.” :(
The dream is not dead!
Q. “What would you write about Roger Federer if you were a journalist?”
RAFAEL NADAL: ”First, no way would I be a journalist.
“You guys have tried to kill Roger - often. But he’s always come back and proved you wrong. So one thing I would not do is make the mistake of saying Roger is dead.”
“There is a certain language barrier between us which is difficult to bridge. You just have to look at the video in which we promote the exhibition matches. We couldn’t stop laughing. Once he hears Spanish it’s over with him. Roger has always been good to me and I whink what’s happening with us and what we managed to do is fantastic for the sport. Tennis has definitely profited because we are there.”
